Te Tumu Waiora - Health Improvement Practitioner
Nirala Lencse
My name is Nirala and I am the Health Improvement Practitioner for Manly Medical Centre. I am also registered occupational therapist here to help people with their emotional health. I can help with any issue that causes you stress or effects your emotional well-being. I have helped people with low mood, anxiousness, life balance, relationships, parenting, drugs and alcohol, pain, sleep, work issues, and more.
Some of the benefits patients have reported are increased confidence, increased ability to manage emotions and reduced stress.
Below are some questions that may help you to access the service:
What Do Consult Involve?
Consults take between 25-30min. We go through a quick questionnaire, identify areas of life you feel you are thriving In, and focus on the areas of stress. There is option for follow up and you can make an appointment whenever you need by calling the medical centre.
When Are You Available?
I am here Monday to Thursday. My first appointment is at 8:30am and last at 3:45pm.
Is There a Cost?
No. This service is fully funded.
How do I get referred to see you?
Your doctor/nurse can do a referral to see me on the same day that you have an appointment with them or we can set up a follow up appointment on the phone or face to face.
Is This Counselling?
No, this is not a counselling service however, patients do find this service helpful if they are waiting for a counselling appointment, or if they want to discuss counselling options.
When Should I Book an Appointment?
There is no wrong time to make an appointment. I have seen people who just want to review their life balance, and some people who are feeling extreme stress or emotional distress.
